Henri/Ida Business Assistance Grant Program

This program provides short-term, immediate August rent or mortgage reimbursement support to NJ small and medium-sized businesses and non-profits that have suffered physical damage as a result of the remnants of Hurricane Henri on August 22nd or 23rd, 2021 and/or Hurricane Ida on September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 2021. It will provide grants equal to an eligible applicant’s demonstrated unmet need for support of August rent/mortgage payment up to a cap of $5,000. Applications will open Friday, September 17th, 2021 and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

                        Support the Arts by Urging Your U.S House of                                                      Representative to Sponsor the CERA!

The Creative Economy Revitalization Act (CERA) is a bill that that would help revamp the creative economy through the creation of a workforce grants program worth up to $300 million to employ artists and writers to create publicly available art. The grants will go to local, state, and tribal agencies, workforce investment boards, and public or private nonprofit entities that can hire local creative workers and produce publicly-available creative projects.

Academy of American Poets First Book Award

There is still time to submit to the 2022 Academy of American Poets First Book Award, the nation’s most generous first-book prize for poetry, judged by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tyehimba Jess. The winner will receive $5,000 and their manuscript will be published by Graywolf Press in 2023. The recipient will be announced in April 2022 during National Poetry Month.

Stories of Atlantic City (SOAC) Community Reporter Fellowship

SOAC's Community Reporter Fellowship is a 7-month civic education and journalism skill-building program beginning October 2021 and ending April 2022. It involves training community members to provide better access to critical local information. Members of our cohort will be trained to report on key local meetings (Executive Council, City Council, Casino Reinvestment and Development Authority, the Board of Education, etc.) and other events while earning a stipend for their work. Our goal is to fill in the gap where traditional journalism methods are not meeting the larger A.C community’s information needs.

    2021 Atlantic City Latino Festival

               Saturday, September 25th, 2021 from 12 PM- 8 PM at Bader's Field

    Come celebrate Hispanic Culture, Music and Art at this year’s Atlantic City Latino Festival. This music filled festival will feature live Latin music including bachata, bomba, cumbia, folkloric dancers, mariachi, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, hottest latino DJs, performances, Arts and Crafts vendors, activities for both adults and children, a variety of authentic Latin-American food vendors and refreshments, free health and wellness screenings, etc.

    The organizers of the Latino Festival Atlantic City are looking to add performances, food, and merchandise for sale that reflects the Atlantic City’s many cultures. The list below reflects the various cultures they are seeking. Those in the bolded orange text are priority categories. There are grant funds to pay the performers.

    Arts & Economic Prosperity 6: The Economic Impact of Nonprofit Arts & Cultural Organizations & Their Audiences

    Americans for the Arts seeks 250 partner organizations to participate in AEP6, our 6th national economic impact study of America’s nonprofit arts and cultural industry. Previous partners have included local arts agencies, community foundations, economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, performing arts centers, and more. It will be more important than ever to demonstrate that, even in the wake of COVID-19 and the resulting economic recession, the arts will provide a significant boost as we recharge the economy in our local communities.
