"WeTransfer" Email Phishing Scam

It has come to our attention that someone may be phishing for information in the name of SJCA!

Please do not open any "invoices" supposedly sent by SJCA from "WeTransfer " like the image on the right.

The subject line of this phishing email is:

Subject: jhain@sjca.net sent you South Jersey Cultural Alliance.htm via WeTransfer

All SJCA invoices are generated through Wild Apricot Software, not WeTransfer. This is a phishing scam. Do not provide any personal information.

Tropical Storm Ida Financial Relief for Small Businesses and Non-Profits

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has been tasked with creating and administering the program, which will provide short-term, immediate rent/mortgage reimbursement support to New Jersey businesses and non-profits with up to 50 employees that suffered physical damage on September 1stand 2nd, 2021 and any additional flooding immediately thereafter. Through the proposed $10 million grant program, eligible applicants may apply for and receive $1,000- $5,000 worth of financial assistance.

DEADLINE: Application timelines will be announced after September 8th, 2021

Digital Marketing Partnership Grant for BICPOC Organizations

After committing to becoming an anti-racist organization, Capacity Interactive (CI) is launching the Digital Marketing Partnership Grant that extends their consulting services to BIPOC-serving and BIPOC-led organizations and organizations that center BIPOC arts and culture. If granted the partnership, your organization will receive $10,000 worth of consulting hours towards CI digital marketing services. This does not include media spend and services will be based on organizational needs and CI staff availability.

Emergency Preparedness for Public Art Collections

Extreme weather is becoming more and more of a norm for communities across the U.S. For 3 hours, participants will work with a public art conservator on how to plan for the worst to care for public artworks. This intensive will cover what policies to have in place for emergency response, what information to have on hand to accurately survey damage, and the steps to take to develop a restoration plan for damaged artworks.

    2021 Atlantic City Latino Festival

               Saturday, September 25th, 2021 from 12 PM- 8 PM at Bader's Field

    Come celebrate Hispanic Culture, Music and Art at this year’s Atlantic City Latino Festival. This music filled festival will feature live Latin music including bachata, bomba, cumbia, folkloric dancers, mariachi, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, hottest latino DJs, performances, Arts and Crafts vendors, activities for both adults and children, a variety of authentic Latin-American food vendors and refreshments, free health and wellness screenings, etc.

    The organizers of the Latino Festival Atlantic City are looking to add performances, food, and merchandise for sale that reflects the Atlantic City’s many cultures. The list below reflects the various cultures they are seeking. Those in the bolded orange text are priority categories. There are grant funds to pay the performers.

    Chalk About AC

    Chalk About AC is a city-wide chalking event inviting the community to come together to create chalk artwork in Atlantic City, encouraging positive perceptions of the area For 2021, the Atlantic City Arts Foundation will be hiring three professional artists to design their own chalk based artwork during the 7th annual Chalk About AC event on October 9th from 9 am - 1 pm. We will be distributing chalk from Browns Memorial Park, located at Bacharach Blvd. in Atlantic City, for chalk art to be created across the city for the day.

    2021 Cultural Accessibility Conference

    Join us online for a 3 day conference built for cultural professionals to learn the latest accessibility trends and best practices from leaders around the world. Attendees will build tools, knowledge and an international network of allies and resources to increase accessibility and inclusion in arts and culture. The conference will begin with a Keynote from the Honorable Anthony "Tony" Coelho; former six- term, United States Congressmen and primary author of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and will feature Call To Action! presented by Dr. Tina Childress, Audiologist, self-advocate, and internationally recognized accessibility educator.     Stories of Atlantic City (SOAC) Community Reporter Fellowship

    SOAC's Community Reporter Fellowship is a 7-month civic education and journalism skill-building program beginning October 2021 and ending April 2022. It involves training community members to provide better access to critical local information. Members of our cohort will be trained to report on key local meetings (Executive Council, City Council, Casino Reinvestment and Development Authority, the Board of Education, etc.) and other events while earning a stipend for their work. Our goal is to fill in the gap where traditional journalism methods are not meeting the larger A.C community’s information needs.

    COVID-19 Impacts on Nonprofits Survey

    The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic were felt differently by each nonprofit. The National Council of Nonprofits and the Federal Reserve Bank are conducting a nationwide survey to create a comprehensive picture of the pandemic’s effects on nonprofits and the low-to-moderate-income communities they serve. The results will help inform decision-makers about the challenges nonprofits and communities have experienced during the last 18 months. The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete and will help inform equitable recovery programs and policies.
