Calls for Submissions to NJ Arts Community National Day of Racial Healing

The Creating Change Network seeks submissions from arts organizations, schools, universities and individual artists in the National Day of Racial Healing from January 18-25, 2022. Submitted events can be either virtual or in-person and should be connected to the theme of “Healing in Action” related to race and racism. Participants may be eligible for up to $350 in project support.

Capital Arts Grant Guidelines Now Available

WHAT IS THE CAPITAL ARTS GRANT PROGRAM

The Capital Arts Grant Program supports capital projects for arts organizations located in New Jersey. Approximately $4 million in funds are available for the FY22 Capital Arts Grant Program. The grant program is designed to help New Jersey’s nonprofit arts organizations build operational stability and capacity through one of the three eligible project categories:

  • construction
  • repair or expansion of existing facilities
  • acquisition/installation of building service equipment (plumbing, mechanical, and/or electrical equipment, et. al.)
Eligibility information is provided in the grant guidelines.

Russell J. Efros Sprout Fund

What: The RJE Sprout Fund was established in 2021 to support artists across the nation with direct funds in order to provide financial means to projects that will be completed within the next 12 months.

Who: All artists are encouraged to apply – formally trained, self-taught, and those whose creative work falls outside of traditional forms of art. Artists are also encouraged to apply for funds for projects that involve their communities such as art classes, therapy, outreach, and non-traditional projects. Funds will be prioritized for artists working with marginalized and underserved audiences, topics, or subject matter.

Live Q&A: Intellectual Property for Artists


When: Nov. 29th @ 5PM

When an artist makes work, ownership and financial implications are tied to more than just the physical object/s. In her videos, attorney Jessica Lee outlines the legal rights of artists, with a focus on intellectual property. She talks us through the bundle of rights included in copyright and the value artists and designers have in their work—whether or not an object is sold.

Questions concerning trademark, copyright, and licensing are welcome during this session. Jessica will use her ongoing experience negotiating and protecting intellectual property on behalf of artists and designers to answer questions. She will not provide legal advice.
